Todd Bentley: Just another ravenous wolf (Matt. 7:13) attempting to deceive even the elect (Matt. 24:24) and introducting destructive heresies (2 Peter 2:1).

All revivalist movements, from the time of Finney, have been frauds. I recently came across an article on a website (liverpoolrevival.org.uk) that claimed that there had been, in 1904, a revival. The newspaper article that was put on the website had been doctored, and I know this to be a fact because I have in my pocession a copy of the news paper. When I challenged the author he tried to hied his deceit by saying we must beg to disagree. I informed him that there is no disagreement, that he had falsified a document to tell a lie. In 1904, in Birkenhead, to which the article refers, there was abdect poverty and crime. Many public houses had to be shut because they were the source of crime. Little children had no shoes, clothes barely scratched their backs. Nothing of God happened here.

I have been studying the revival movement for some time, and hence why I had the news paper article to hand. So far I have yet to find one genuine revival. The men, such as Finney, where Socinians, all were Sandemanians. The greater the revivalist the wealthier the man. If television had been arround D.L.Moody would have been the star of the show, the Orrel Roberts of the day. The well heeled evangelists were so stupid that within times of depression they would so often climb on stage with expensive, well cut suits. Billy Sunday’s wife was so brash that she climbed on stage dripping with expensive jewely. She naturaly gave offense. The writers of the movement were romantisists, in line with the spirit of the age, an age when that which was penned as wonder and marvellous sold far better than the mundane. Today we have to live with the fruit of the movement that began with Finney. Godless is our age.
